The Cedar Creek Concert Series is a collection of local performances centered around Northern Virginia's Cedar Creek, including the counties of Frederick, Warren and Shenandoaoh, as well as in Winchester, VA. At these events, local professional musicians perform a wide variety of genres alongside local talented school music students.
The Cedar Creek Concert Series serves several purposes:
- To provide local professional musicians and performers an opportunity to share their expertise with school-age musicians aspiring to continue in their musical careers past high school.
- To provide school age students performance opportunities outside their school band, orchestra, guitar or choir programs.
- To promote life long learning and foster a love of music by having professionals and school- age musicians share a stage.
- To provide a source of funding for the school music programs in Strasburg, VA. All proceeds for these concerts go to the Strasburg Music Boosters.
