The Court & Market Days Festival is a free community festival held on Saturday June 2, 2012 from 9 am to 2 pm, at the Turner Park & Pavilion in Downtown Harrisonburg. Court Days was once a day of political speech-making, business transactions, and merchants selling their wares. The Court & Market Days Festival combines this nineteenth century tradition with the contemporary culture of the Harrisonburg Farmers Market to offer a rich and historical event that draws thousands of history enthusiasts each year.
2012 marks a milestone year, in which the Court & Market Days Festival will commemorate what was one of the most legendary military campaigns in American history- Stonewall Jacksons 1862 Valley Campaign. The festival offers a wide array of historical entertainment, including period music, artisan demonstrations, history re-enactors, mini-lecture series, and the Civil War 150 History Mobile.
